In September 2008, one week before our out-of-town wedding, we closed on the house. To say it was a fixer-upper is the understatement of the year. When we first looked at this forclosure there was dog feces on the floor, various stains, walls were falling apart, graffiti was all over, and there was even a little handgun left behind.
I saw potential however. The layout of the home was good, the price was great (if you don’t count all the money we’ve put into it), and the kitchen and bathrooms were somehow in good condition. In the last 3.5 years we have used over 100 gallons of primer, paint, and stain (sounds unreal, but it’s true), changed out almost everything in the home, and spent more hours than I care to think about working on it!
This page will show you room by room what we have done to the place. I will be updating this page as I get all the ‘After’ pictures taken, so check back to see what we’ve done.
